South Ribble brings together a mix of heritage, green spaces and well-known attractions, with towns like Leyland and Penwortham at its heart. One of the area’s most recognisable landmarks is Samlesbury Hall, a striking black-and-white Tudor building with centuries of history, alongside a lively programme of events throughout the year. In Leyland, the British Commercial Vehicle Museum highlights long-standing links to transport and engineering, with an extensive collection of vehicles that is definitely worth checking out.
Open space is easy to find, with Worden Park offering landscaped gardens, play areas and regular activities, while Cuerden Valley Park provides woodland trails and quieter spots to spend time outdoors. The River Ribble runs nearby too, creating scenic routes for walking and cycling, with plenty of opportunities to pause along the way and take in the surroundings
