Wyre
Wyre brings together a distinctive stretch of coastline, maritime heritage and market towns, each with its own focus. In Fleetwood, the docklands and fishing history are still part of daily life, with the promenade, Marine Hall and Affinity Lancashire adding to its appeal. Just along the coast, Cleveleys is known for its wide seafront and well-known Mythic Coast sculptures. Inland, Poulton-le-Fylde centres around its historic market square, while nearby Garstang, often described as the world’s first Fairtrade town, offers a traditional high street, regular markets and access to the Lancaster Canal.
Outdoor space plays a big role here, with the Wyre Estuary Country Park offering marked trails, birdwatching spots and riverside views, and a network of paths linking coast and countryside. The coastal route between Rossall and Cleveleys is popular for walking and cycling right by the sea, while inland areas around Garstang provide quieter stretches along the canal towpath. Across the area, a mix of traditional cafés, fish and chip shops and local events adds to the experience, giving each part of Wyre its own reason to stop and spend time.
