The Lancashire Game and Country Festival
About The Lancashire Game and Country Festival
Taking place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September (9.00 - 17.00 daily), This fabulous event – a diary fixture for the North’s countryside enthusiasts – gets bigger and better every year. The emphasis is very much on ‘having a go’ whether you are a newcomer to country sports or a seasoned professional. The event features fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, horse shows, carriage driving, gundog scurries and dog shows.
The Food Theatre, compered by the ever-entertaining Peter Gott of Sillfield Farm, features demonstrations by celebrity chefs including ‘This Morning’s Phil Vickery, game specialist Tim Maddams and wild food guru, Lancashire-based Dominique’s Kitchen. There is artisan produce to sample and buy, as well as crafts and lots of fantastic top-brand fashions.
Main Arena demonstrations include headline act Jonathan Marshall and his unique and inspirational choreographed ‘Free Spirit’ horseback and falconry performances. Jonathan is the world’s leading horseback falconer, flying birds of prey from his highly trained stallions. There will also be carriage driving, terrier racing and visits by local horse and hound packs.
There will be music from Samba Espirito drumming band, as well as a shopping village and children’s fair to make a real family day out. Dogs on leads are very welcome at the show.
