Gisburn

Gisburn is a village with deep historical roots, set on the edge of the Ribble Valley close to the Yorkshire border. First recorded in the Domesday Book, its long history is reflected in the character of the village today, with traditional stone buildings and a sense of continuity that links past and present. Its location just off the A59 makes it a natural stopping point between Lancashire and Yorkshire, while still feeling firmly part of the surrounding countryside.

Within the village, you’ll find a small but notable food scene, including La Locanda, a well-regarded Italian restaurant known for its authentic approach and use of local produce. Just a short distance away, Stirk House Hotel offers a very different setting, combining historic features with modern comforts, alongside dining and accommodation in landscaped grounds. With its mix of heritage, countryside location and places to eat and stay, Gisburn provides a quieter corner of the Ribble Valley to spend time.
