Overton
The peaceful and historic fishing village of Overton is south-west of Lancaster, close to Heysham and the mouth of the River Lune. The village occupies the site of a Roman settlement and also boasts an ancient church which has an open turret. There is a 17th century Inn called The Globe in the village, from which a one mile tidal road runs to the ancient Port of Sunderland
