Frederick's Ice Cream Parlour

The business has an incredible family history starting in 1896 when the Great-Grandfather left his small home town of Setterone with his two brothers, who all walked to England to find work and a better life. They originally settled in St Helens and started manufacturing real Italian ice cream. People loved it and the business grew. They enjoyed their success and the brothers started their own families. In 1936 Grandfather Matthew, married May Amelia, an Italian ice cream girl herself. Originally from the beautiful town of Vigiolo the Massa family had been making ice cream in Chorley, Lancashire since 1892. As a generous wedding gift, their Grandparents were given their very own ice cream shop and factory (the Bolton Road parlour) - and from here they still make all their delicious ice cream today! Quality and luxury are the guiding principles using innovative products and production methods. Frederick's are proud to manufacture the best quality luxury ice cream on the market and their wholesale customers love their quick responses to requests for new flavours and free weekly delivery and after sales service including staff guidance and parlour set up assistance. With three high-spec Italian ice cream parlours, Frederick's also retail delicious products direct to customers. At the heart of the action, the Bolton Road parlour is located at the historical home of the business. Here you can sample 42 flavours of ice cream, served on cones, in tubs to takeaway or waffles, cookie dough and crepes are all on the menu to eat in or takeaway. The Bolton Road ice cream parlour also has a fabulous range of light snacks and barista coffees. And check out the speciality ice cream milkshakes - these deliciously and decadently thick milkshakes are made for you using luxury ice cream and are available in fresh fruit flavours or whip it up with any of the branded chocolate bars! The Bolton Road store is open seven days a week 9am until 10pm. Frederick's are working with Lancashire County Council and Chorley council to ensure the safety of their customers on Bolton Road, around the ice cream parlour. Please park responsibly to ensure that neighbours can access their drives freely and to keep the traffic flowing on the A6.
