But both the witches and Stonyhurst are linked by their history of Catholicism and penal times. Jane can also finds Mormon history in the Ribble Valley, at Downham and Ribchester.

The Forest of Bowland - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and roads so narrow that driving them is a total experience.

The Lune Valley, Kirby Lonsdale, Devils Bridge, the famous Ribbleshead viaduct and the stunning scenery where Bowland meets the Dales.

The Yorkshire Dales – the picturesque village of Grassington and the grandeur of Middleham castle where Richard III grew up.

The Lancashire coast and Fylde villages.
