This weekend will be another busy one across Lancashire with plenty of great events filled with fun for you to enjoy. If you are looking for great things to do with friends, family, as a couple or even on your own, you'll find something for everyone in the region.

Dirty Dancing
Blackpool Winter Gardens
Running til 19th September
This first event is actually on for over a week, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch it! The iconic Dirty Dancing stage adaptation has made its way to Blackpool Winter Gardens as part of a full UK and Ireland tour. Expect heart-pounding music, breathtaking emotion and sensational dancing, and remember; nobody puts baby in the corner! Read our review of the show here

World Fireworks Championships

12th September, 26th September and 10th October
The World Fireworks Championships are back! Once again adorning the skies of Blackpool will be displays from three country teams over threes nights, all competing for the chance to be hailed the champs. The very first display is held this Saturday, 12th September, and features Celtic Fireworks for Wales. Synchronised to music and launched from the beach in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower, there's no better place to watch these displays
The Lancashire Game and Country Festival
12th Sept - 13th September
Scorton
This two date even is a must visit for the north's countryside enthusiasts, wit country sports such as fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, horse shows, dog shows, carriage driving and gundog scurries as well as displays from horses, falconry performances and music from Samba Espirito drumming band. The show also features a food theatre with demonstrations from celebrity chefs and artisan produce to buy.
Clitheroe Clogfest
12th – 13th September
Clitheroe Castle
Clitheroe Clogfest is back! Taking place over two days this weekend, it’s a chance to enjoy traditional clog dancing from performers near and far. Saturday’s Day of Dance begins at Clitheroe Castle at 10:30am before teams make their way through the town, stopping for performances at Market Square and other locations. On Sunday, teams return for the annual Lancashire and Cheshire clog competitions, held at the Castle Museum from 10am to 12 noon and 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

The Vintage and Performance Car show
12th September
Burnley
Filled with horsepower, history and high-octane entertainment, the Vintage and Performance Car Show provides the perfect opportunity for motor enthusiasts in the region to showcase their prized machines. Head along to St Jame's Street and Curzon Street as they are transformed into a paradise for car and bike lovers. There will also be a great line up of entertainment for families, including a free trail for the kids to follow, live performances and surprise walkabout acts.

Nelson Food and Drink Festival

The much-loved Nelson Food and Drink Festival returns this weekend and promises to be bigger and better than ever! This free family-friendly event will transform the town into a foodie paradise with delicious street food, local produers, craft stalls and live entertainment to keep everyone happy. This year social media sensation Zaynah Din will return to demonstrate her vibrant Asian fusion dishes, and Lancashire BBQ expert Naem Rafip will be joining her.

Heritage open days

This weekend sees the start of the Heritage Open Days initiative from the National Trust and Postcode Lottery. This is a huge festival with opportunities across the entire nation, and Lancashire attractions are doing their bit to join in.
