It’s the summer of 1963, and 17 year-old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is about to learn some major lessons in life as well as a thing or two about dancing as Dirty Dancing has arrived in Blackpool.

If you’re a fan of the film, this production is an absolute treat. It stays wonderfully true to the original Dirty Dancing story, with all the iconic scenes and recreating them brilliantly for the stage.

The casting is excellent, and there’s a genuine chemistry between Baby and Johnny which grows throughout, really drawing you into their story. As the second act unfolds, the energy builds until it culminates in an explosive final scene and that iconic lift! Goosebumps.

There are some incredible vocals throughout, a brilliant ensemble, and some laugh out loud moments too. A special mention has to go to the musicians, who have the unusual job of actually being on stage and playing live as part of the cast, which adds something really special to the production.

It’s nostalgic, energetic, brilliantly performed, a little bit steamy and guaranteed to have you singing along in your head to every familiar song.
