'A rural West Lancashire 16th Century listed barn is home to a rustic farm shop, unique gift loft, country store along with a charming tea room which sells amazing cooked food. Located just outside the picturesque village of Bispham, where the Ashcroft's have worked this farm for over 200 years growing potatoes, vegetables and cereals.
The tearoom and ice cream parlour serve food between 10.30am and 3.00pm and offer a range of traditional farmhouse homemade meals, traditional roast dinners on a Sunday, home made chips from the potatoes grown on the farm, cakes, a choice of locally produced ice cream, speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate and traditional tea. Early bird menus are available before 12.00pm. Outdoor seating is available which is located by the picturesque pond and snug new Tearoom area area is perfect for a cosy by the log fire. The farm shop offers a vast range of homegrown and locally produced goods as well as meat, fresh fruit and bread. Owd Barn stocks local produce such as fresh meat from the award winning butchers Hallsworth & Son of Ormskirk; cheese; sweets and biscuits from Garstang; potted shrimps from Southport; honey and jam from Lancaster; ice cream from Fredericks of Chorley; free range eggs and duck eggs from Tarleton; breads and pies from Chorley as well as homemade cakes from Lathams of Preston.
The gift loft includes pottery, jewellery, cards, gift bags, wrapping paper, luxury gifts from Culinary Concepts and unique candles from Stoneglow Candles. They are also recognised stockist of Powder Scarves, Gloves and Socks which all come in their beautiful gift bags. Local crafts and vintage furniture created by Junk & Jive and Baker Furniture. Watch this space as this summer the Home and Gift will be made bigger again with an even more extensive range of furniture suites for dining, bedrooms and more lighting and decorative furnishings.
The country store offers the perfect attire for the country gent which includes boots; work wear; shooting clothing and casual jackets from quality brand Hoggs of Fife and Jack Murphy jackets and Evercreatures wellies for stylish country lady. They have a large range tractors from Siku and Britains; locally produced pet food from Tarleton; horse feeds; home grown hay and straw and in the summer months; a vast aray of bedding and gardening supplies.
The Spud Shed is the newest development, following a year long transformation this is now home to eight businesses and is set to become Lancashire's newest well-being destination, businesses include yoga, spa, physiotherapy and hair dressing businesses, as well as adult and children’s clothing boutiques, a florist and creative web design company.
