Haworth Art Gallery is Lancashire’s finest house and garden designed in the Arts & Crafts style. Every inch of the building is teaming with beautiful details inspired by nature and made with a love of materials and craftsmanship. Set on a dramatic hillside, the house still retains a homely-feel and provides an intimate setting for paintings and decorative art objects.
Learn about local hero Joseph Briggs who moved to American in the late 1800s. He started as an errand boy and worked his way up to become President at the world-famous Tiffany Glass Company. He left his amazing collection of Tiffany Glass to the people of Accrington and it is housed here for all to enjoy. This heart-warming story of endeavour and philanthropy is one of many that makes the Haworth both locally and internationally important.
The historic stables and motor house have been reimagined as Artists’ Studios. The studios are home to a range of skilled craftspeople working and selling their wares on site.
Set in nine acres of parkland visitors can find respite in the rose garden, let off steam in the sweeping lawns or explore the woodland areas and wild meadows. For an authentic dining experience, the licensed Gallery Kitchen is situated in the Haworth’s original Arts & Crafts dining room.
