From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a 60s American diner and parlor, just like the ones in the flicks. Dine in a yellow school bus or grab a diner booth and channel your inner Fonzie. Enjoy a fancy soda from the restored 1940s fountain or, if you’re just passing by, order a coffee from the vintage Airstream or ice cream parlour treat from the counter.
Whether you’re a tot, a teen or heading to your twilight years, Billy Bob’s is a full-on retro American parlor and siner that can’t fail to make you feel like a million bucks. And that’s just the half of it, for once you step through and back outside, you’ll find seventh heaven for kids just waiting to be clambered over. From the wooden monster truck to the helicopter, the pirate ship, fire engine and so much more, imagination is the only limitation to where their adventure might take them (with you willing mums, dads and grandparents) in this outdoor play area.
Then turn the corner and find even more adventure to boot. Ole fashioned fun that even the weather can’t spoil in the huge play barns. Rope swings, zip wires, racing slides and foam pit make for a great way to burn off energy from brunch, lunch or dinner, before heading back in for those legen-dairy parlour treats, ice creams, pancakes, sundaes and shakes.
Billy Bob’s makes eating out together as a family both fun and tasty. Visitors choose from an extensive all-American themed menu, featuring diner favourites like burgers, ribs, chicken wings and Philly cheesesteak, with veggie and vegan options aplenty and a separate kid’s menu for under nines. At Billy Bob’s, just because kids are dining too, it doesn’t mean rubbish or bland food. Nearabout everything is made from scratch in the kitchens with passion and local ingredients (and for those who like it, a kick of spice here and there wink, wink).
Ice cream? You bet. The nearabout 30 flavours are all homemade over at the sister store in Skipton. Choose from high-falutin’ flavours like key lime pie, rainbow sherbet or cotton candy. Or stick with comforting staples like vanilla, banana and mint choc. Pile ’em high on a choice of cones, or be the kid in the candy store and go all-out with a decadent sundae, pancake or waffle.
Billy Bob’s sure makes most folks feel like a kid again, whether it’s the toe-tapping tune playing on the jukebox, slurping up a legendary thick shake between bites on a homemade burger, gawping in wonderment at the authentic memorabilia and neons, or having a blast on the awesome play, you'll be planning your next visit before you’ve driven out of the parking lot.
