Light Ash Farm was previously a Lancashire dairy farm, and had been for many years. Now the home of the Morgan family, Edith a farmer's daughter decided back in 2012 she would like to develop the disused barn into an outlet for local produce, a subject Edith is passionate about.
July 2013 - saw the opening the cafe where Edith can showcase her own home cooked food.
May 2015 - Light Ash Farm had the huge honour of serving lunch to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth. A three course meal of smoked Lune Valley Salmon, followed by Lamb Fillet and finally Apple crumble and custard was enjoyed by all 23 quests.
The cafe menu offers a selection of light lunches of filled hand crafted bread rolls, baked potatoes, paninis and salad platters. They have soup of the day made in their own kitchen as well as a specials board with more hearty meals.
There is a range of carefully selected coffees including cappuccino, espresso, latte, hot chocolate as well as fine teas including fruit and herb. There is also have milk shake, ice cream floats and a selection of soft drinks.
Why not compliment one of their coffees with a slice of cake or one of their sweets or the delicious scones, with clotted cream and jam. Alternatively why not sample Wallings Ice Cream in a sundae.
Afternoon teas are served every day from 2pm, they include a selection of cakes, scones served with jam and cream, plus a selection of sandwiches, with either a pot of tea or coffee.
There is also a gift shop which offers a unique selection of gifts including hand bags from Red Cuckoo, ladies accessories from Peach, Powder U.K. They also stock ceramics and pottery from Moorland, plus many more brands and unusual gifts to suit all budgets.
Speciality gifts including speciality preserves, biscuits, chocolates and cakes from selected suppliers are also available.
