From the cottage door, enjoy walking, cycling or bird-watching in the lovely flat countryside or at the shore-side which is close by.  Well placed for visiting the Forest of Bowland, Blackpool and Lancaster (all within a 40 minute drive). Windermere and South Lakes are one hours drive.  

The nearest shop is 250 metres; pub serving food 250 metres.  Off-road parking for two cars.

Not suitable for person in a wheelchair because of step at front and back doors, and would be a tight fit in bathroom. 

Doors are 76 cms (30 ins).  Nearest groceries/news and magazines/off-licence/Post-office/to-go food/cash via debit-card is 250 metres, Pub with food, 250 mtrs and 1.5 miles. Restaurants in Knott-End (5 miles), Garstang (5.5 miles) major supermarkets, Sainsburys, Booths, Aldi all at Garstang (5.5 miles).  Churches in Pilling, Church of England, Methodist and Catholic churches.  Golf pay and play in Garstang (six miles), Ashton-with-Stodday near Lancaster (seven miles).  Golf, handicap at Knott-End Golf club (five miles), Lancaster Golf Club at Ashton-with-Stodday (seven miles).  Attractions in Pilling include walking, cycling, bird-watching, shore-side, Pilling Pig locomotive, Pilling Pottery, microlight flying, parachuting near.  There is a nice walk with good views to Knott-End from Fluke Hall Sands on Fluke Hall Lane in Pilling, left along the sea-wall (approx. three miles).  There is a parking area at Fluke Hall sands or walk from Redwings (extra 2.2 miles approx).  Buses to Knott-End and Lancaster. Knott-End shops, restaurants, golf, ferry boat to Fleetwood. bus to Blackpool Fleetwood, Freeport shopping centre, indoor market, beach. tram to Blackpool.
