About Preston Markets

Preston Market Hall The new Market Hall opened in February 2018. The glass and timber clad steel structure of the new market hall provides a modern and contemporary shopping experience for customers. Within the Market Hall there is an abundance of fresh and local quality meat, fish, vegetables and dairy products. You will also find a treasure trove of goods from jewellery, hair and make-up to mobile phones, accessories and repairs. Spending the day in Preston or heading to a show, there are cafes and hot food options to eat in or take away. Plus a real ale and cocktail bar, which is open late to start your evening right. So, if you're after fresh food and local produce with the warmest of welcomes guaranteed, then Preston Market is the place to visit. Box market The innovative Box market is located under the fish market canopy. Taking inspiration from markets in London, the unique shops are located within refurbished shipping containers. Here you can find real ales, pet supplies, vintage accesories and watch repairs. Outdoor market and second hand market The Grade II listed Victorian canopies host an outdoor market four times a week Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Don't forget to stop by the fantastic bronze Wallace and Gromit statue, with Wallace in the Wrong Trousers and Gromit reading his newspaper whilst sat on the bench. This extremely popular feature, and selfie hotspot, was erected at the south Market Hall entrance to honour the franchise creator Nick Park, who is a Prestonian.
