About Patty's Barn

Set on the sea wall overlooking the salt marshes of Morecambe Bay, Patty’s Barn is home to 11 individually styled four and five-star self-catering cottages, two unique a-frame cabins and Patty’s Croft, a five-star boutique cottage designed in collaboration with BBC Interior Design Masters 2025 finalist Rita Milat.

Sleeping from two to nine guests, with exclusive use of the site accommodating up to 60, Patty’s Barn is ideal for family holidays, group getaways, walking breaks, creative retreats, work stays and special celebrations.  Over the past few years each property has been carefully refreshed to create a welcoming boutique farm-stay feel while preserving the character and original features of the traditional stone barns.  Each cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay, with quality linen, fresh towels and Pure Lakes natural skincare products included.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of shared onsite facilities, including a games room; outdoor BBQ areas; bookable wood-fired hot and cold tubs; a small gym; a private nature trail through woodlands; ponds and open fields; and a large paddock with football goals and rugby posts for children to enjoy.  Anglers have complimentary access to two private three-acre carp fishing lakes throughout their stay.

Home to Land + Sea, offering seasonal workshops, food experiences and retreats, with two private event spaces available for group gatherings, retreats and celebrations.  For those looking for something more adventurous, the neighbouring Black Knights Skydive Centre offers the chance to experience a tandem skydive during your stay.

Perfectly positioned on the English Coast Path overlooking Morecambe Bay, Patty’s Barn is an ideal base for exploring the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, Lancaster and the Lake District.  Spend your days walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing or simply enjoying the wide-open landscapes before returning to watch some of Lancashire’s most spectacular sunsets from your cottage, overlooking the bay.
