Longridge

Longridge sits on a raised ridge above the surrounding countryside, with views stretching out across the Ribble Valley. Originally developing as a 19th-century mill town, much of its history is still visible today, with buildings constructed from locally quarried sandstone giving the town a distinctive and consistent character. Walking through Longridge, these original features remain a clear link to its past.

At the centre of the town is Berry Lane, where a mix of independent shops lines the main street. Here you’ll find everything from art and homeware to jewellery, gifts and clothing, with a combination of long-established family businesses and newer additions. With its elevated setting and strong local identity, Longridge offers a quieter alternative while still providing plenty to see along its high street.
