Laythams Holiday Lets Retreat

#RedefiningLancashire.  We have completed a renovation of the building's exterior to reveal 16th Century stonework; landscaping and stone paths.  Measures have been added for hygiene and social distancing where relevant.  New management and review of systems have been adopted.  Visit our new website for more information.  #RedefiningLancashire

Nestling in the bird watchers' and walkers' paradise of the Forest of Bowland & its rolling fells, Laythams Holiday Lets Retreat 16th Century Pennine Longhouse has been sensitively converted to include three luxury self-catering cottages - ideal for 2 to 22 guests wanting a special celebration, or just to chill out; or use Laythams as a base for weddings, active days out, & visits to the terrific range of pubs & eateries nearby, not to mention the bustling historic Ribble Valley market town of Clitheroe 15 minutes away.

The Farmhouse at Laythams, with its timeless classic design, sleeps up to 8 people. The  fabulous kitchen and dining room, with pool table, are downstairs, whilst the bedrooms & large lounge with open fireplace, are upstairs to take advantage of the beautiful views.

The Cottage at Laythams, adjoining the farmhouse, can sleep 5 people and has a kitchen/diner downstairs and bedrooms and lounge upstairs, again for the views.

Although they are self-contained, both cottages can be one accommodation unit sleeping up to 13 people, using the upper connecting door. This configuration is particularly popular with families of different generations as the older members can have their own privacy simply by closing their connecting door.

Recently added is The Hayloft at Laythams, which is the ideal romantic getaway haven, intimate luxury for 2 of any age, with cosy log burner and enjoying sweeping views of the beautiful Bowland scenery in several directions. Recently refurbished, this is not yet on the website, so booking enquiries are currently via email, phone or AirBnB.

Besides The Longhouse, the flagship here is The Lakehouse at Laythams, a unique & luxurious 16th century detached barn conversion with its own private woodland, which was specifically converted to offer the ultimate 5 star self-catering experience for up to seven guests in three sumptuous bedrooms, including one which is disabled friendly also featuring a day bed. Special attractions are the sauna and hot tub, as well as the abundant wildlife all around. The Lakehouse has been accredited with a 5 star gold award from Visit England, & like Laythams as a whole, is just an hour from Manchester.
