Blackburn Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival
About Blackburn Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival
Lancashire's Cathedral will be transformed into a magical, festive wonderland, filled with real trees - all beautifully and individually hand decorated by local schools, businesses, charities, and community groups - to deliver a wonderful Christmas experience for all the family.
The Festival will run from Monday 30th November until Sunday 20th December, during which time the Cathedral will be transformed into a magical, festive wonderland. Lancashire’s most iconic building will be filled with real trees - all individually hand decorated - to deliver a wonderful festive family experience.
There will be a number of late night viewings, guests will be able to vote for their favourite and there will also be a Community Memory Tree where messages can be left for a loved one.
We're calling on local schools, businesses, charities and community groups to get involved and sponsor a tree - trees will be displayed across the Cathedral and there are a range of tree sizes to choose from with prices based on the size. You can decorate your own tree in any way you wish and you are encouraged to be as creative and imaginative as you wish! Full details can be found at https://blackburncathedral.com/christmas-tree-festival-2026/
The Cathedral will be open from 9.30am until 4.30pm on most days throughout the Festival (some entry restrictions may apply on certain days).
We are a charity and the Christmas Tree Festival is being held to raise vital funds that support our mission and the communities we serve.
Your support - be that by visiting, donating, sponsoring a tree or supporting the Festival in other ways - helps to secure the long-term future of your Cathedral so that we can remain open to all, both now and for future generations.
