The Future of Social Care: The Big Conversation - Blackburn Cathedral

Blackburn Cathedral will host a special Big Conversation around the future of social care. Whether you work in social care or the health service, represent faith and other community groups, serve in local government or just want to have your say, this event is for you.

The Prime Minister has heralded a ‘Big Conversation’ on the future of Adult Social Care. It may lead to the creation of a National Care Service parallel to the National Health Service.

At the same time, Government plans are afoot to create a new Council out of the boroughs of Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale, to be called Pennine Lancashire.

This will become the Council responsible for Social Services, but ‘care’ is central to what faith communities, voluntary groups and family members do, in visiting, welcoming, supporting and being good neighbours.
