November 12th 1926 was the day the Diocese of Blackburn came into being and the moment Blackburn Parish Church was elevated to cathedral status.

November 12th 1926 was the day the Diocese of Blackburn came into being and the moment Blackburn Parish Church was elevated to cathedral status.

Exactly one hundred years later the diocese will gather in Blackburn Cathedral with friends and guests from across Lancashire to celebrate this joyous milestone.

Clergy and representatives from every parish and school will be invited to join civic leaders, community representatives and special guests to mark this historic occasion.
