There is a dog brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so your dog can enjoy the pub with you after a morning walk. A takeaway service is available for your favourite coffee, tea or hot chocolate to take with you. Standing proudly in the centre of Worsthorne, next to the historic church of St John The Evangelist. The Bay Horse, as it is known today, was constructed in 1899 during the reign of Queen Victoria, replacing the original Elizabethan farmhouse. So for over 120 years, the Bay Horse has been right at the heart of the village. An imposing building, it is a wonderful example of Victorian architecture and displays some of the architectural refinement and decoration that had become common during this period around the 1870s. The Bay Horse is only a short wander from the hills and valleys which inspired the Bronte sisters, with miles of hiking, bike and horse riding trails to choose from. A simple short stroll around Hurstwood or the Mary Towneley Loop is also an option, before lunch or dinner, as The Bay Horse is ideally positioned as a start and end point for your day. Or you can just enjoy a relaxing drink by the fire.
