8th August – Clitheroe Food Festival
The whole family will enjoy the foods on offer at Clitheroe Food Festival this weekend. With over 80 local producers providing everything from seafood to Indian, and cakes to Cunliffe hog roast, there is something to tempt everyone. The smells alone are enough to send your tastebuds into overdrive! Head along and join the fun.
8th August – Princess Tea Part at Leaping Lizards, Clitheroe
Got a Disney Princess loving little one? Then be sure to visit Leaping Lizards this Saturday for them to meet Moana, Belle and Elsa for a magical tea party. Tickets include food and drink, face painting, photo opportunities with the princesses and games. Fancy dress is welcome and actively encouraged!
8th August – Covent Garden Style Entertainment, Preston Markets
Covent Garden in London is often awash with street performers gathering a crowd, and Preston Markets are bringing that magic to the city this summer entertainment of their own. Chris Cross will be at the Markets between 11am and 1pm this Saturday, delivering the very best in bemusing magic tricks, daring escapology and plenty of laughs. Don't miss out!
8th and 9th August – Blackpool Air Show
Blackpool Air Show returns this weekend with some of the world’s finest military and civilian aircraft performing over the iconic seafront. With displays from world-class pilots and performers including the Red Devils, RAF Typhoon, MIG-17, Aerobic Wingwakers and more, the skies will be awash with activity. In addition to the fun in the sky, you will find the Air Show Village with a range of great stalls, attractions and food to enjoy.
8th and 9th August – Adventures in Wonderland at Hoghton Tower, Chorley
Did you know Lewis Caroll was the Great-Great Grandson of Hoghton Tower’s very own Lucy Hoghton?! So where better to re-create wonderland this August?
Join Alice as she wonders through Wonderland, chasing the White Rabbit to find her way home and find out who stole all the tarts! Travelling through the house and gardens this interactive family performance will introduce you to all your favourite characters from the tale. Encounter the mad world of wonderland and find out if Alice can solve the mysteries that await.
8th and 9th August – Knights and Princesses Day at Happy Mount Park, Morecambe
Step into a magical kingdom where brave knights and royal princesses come to life! Enjoy a day filled with adventure, imagination, and enchanting entertainment for the whole family in Morecambe this weekend. There will be spectacular Knights tournaments, Floris de Chevalerie performances, Knight & Princess craft activities, a live interactive Princess Show, singing and storytelling sessions, meet & greets with photo opportunities and all that Happy Mount Park usually offers.
8th and 9th August – Medieval Makers Market at Brockholes, Preston
It’s a must see! Pop along to Brockholes where the floating village will be transformed into a Norman Encampment this weekend. The team will be joined by 12th century re-enactment group Historia Normannis, and the Medieval Encampment will feature displays of historical artifacts including weapons, armour and fashion with members of the society in period dress. In addition, there will be an artisan market focussing on local handmade or wildlife and nature themed items.
