Petals & Pistons at The British Commercial Vehicle Museum

Petals & Pistons is a unique exhibition that brings together historic commercial vehicles and spectacular floral art. Created in partnership with Flowers North West to celebrate its 65th anniversary, the event features around 25 imaginative floral displays set amongst the museum's collection of vintage lorries, buses and commercial vehicles. Visitors can also enjoy floral demonstrations, hands-on workshops, children's craft activities and full access to the museum's exhibits, creating a distinctive celebration of creativity, engineering and craftsmanship.
A Taste of Leyland

A Taste of Leyland is a vibrant celebration of local food and drink, showcasing more than 40 traders from across Lancashire and beyond. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of street food, sweet treats, artisan produce, local drinks and market stalls, alongside live music, family entertainment, children's rides, face painting and walkabout performances. Free to attend, the event offers a fantastic opportunity to sample the region's culinary talent while enjoying a lively atmosphere in the heart of Leyland.

Horrockses Fashions: Everyday Glamour & the Art of British Ready-to-Wear
The Harris Museum

Marking the 80th anniversary of Horrockses Fashions, this major exhibition celebrates one of Preston's most remarkable fashion success stories. Drawing on the largest museum collection of Horrockses garments in the UK, the exhibition explores how the Lancashire-based company transformed British ready-to-wear fashion by combining couture-inspired design with high-quality printed cottons. Featuring more than 60 dresses alongside original fabric swatches, design books, photography and archive material, the exhibition showcases a brand worn by everyone from mill workers to members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II. There a number of workshops taking place surrounding the exhibition throughout its run, which can be found on The Harris Museum listing.
Encounter Festival

Encounter Festival returns to Preston for a day of free outdoor arts, live music, street theatre, family activities and immersive performances. Highlights include large-scale installations, community performances, the much-loved torchlight procession and a spectacular fireworks display to close the festival. Bringing music, motion and magic to the streets of Preston in a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity this event is not to be missed.
Colne Cricket Club Music Festival

A spectacular new music festival coming to Colne this autumn, headlined by legendary 90s chart-toppers East 17. The festival will feature live performances from tribute acts celebrating artists including Oasis, Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift and K-Pop favourites, alongside performances from local talent. Visitors can also enjoy fairground attractions, street food, bars and a VIP area, creating a fun-filled day of entertainment for all ages.
Hawks and Owls at Barton Grange Garden Centre
Broughton, Nr Preston

Discover the fascinating world of hawks and owls with the Lancashire Hawks and Owls organisation. An incredible service that rescues and looks after birds of prey which cannot be returned to the wild, Lancashire Hawks and Owls will showcase their knowledge at Barton Grange Garden Centre this weekend, where you'll have a chance to meet both the people and the birds they rescue. All the birds of prey in the display are hand reared and totally approachable, which means you can touch them and have your photo taken with them (charge applies). In addition to meeting the birds, you can get some shopping in with the new Halloween and autumn range of goodies in Barton Grange, or grab some delicious food in their restaurants.

Jason Donovan at King George's Hall
Blackburn

Be one of the first to see the beautiful King George's Hall following its multi million pound refurbishment this weekend as Aussie legend Jason Donovan takes to the stage to perform his greatest hits and more. Known from his roles in Australian hit show Neighbours, Donovan melted hearts with his songs throughout the 80s and 90s, including Especially for You, performed with pop icon Kylie Minogue. Since then he has been a regular feature in leading west end stage shows including a record breaking run as Joseph in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and more.
