From discovering some of Lancashire's most haunted places, to braving one of the terrifying scare parks, Halloween is fun for everyone – not just the kids!

We’ve highlighted some of the county’s great Halloween events for adults to enjoy, are you brave enough to try any?

Journey to Hell Freak Nights  
Pleasure Beach Resort

Journey to Hell Freak Nights transforms Pleasure Beach Resort in Blackpool into a spine-chilling Halloween experience, where family-friendly fun gives way to fright-filled thrills after dark. Blackpool Tower Dungeon

Not for the faint-hearted, these exclusive evening shows are for adults only! That’s right, The Blackpool tower Dungeon will be opening into the darker hours of the night to bring back its infamous Dungeon Lates 18+ nights! Running every Friday in October including Halloween Night, you and your despicable group will be led through our Dungeon Shows, but this time with even more twists and turns and saucier jokes than usual, you won’t know whether to laugh or scream! The Blackpool Tower Dungeon Lates mashes up theatre, special effects and intriguing storytelling with wit, humour, and plenty of edge-of-the-seat surprises for an after-hours experience like no other!

Farmaggedon 

Ormskirk

Farmaggedon 2026 returns to Ormskirk this Halloween with a unique blend of scares and festival-style entertainment. Featuring five immersive scare mazes, including Maze of Death, The Facility, The Meat Locker, The Beast of Terror and Hellucination, the event combines heart-pounding thrills with live music, street food, entertainment, rides and a fully themed atmosphere for an unforgettable night out.

Running on selected nights from September to October and strictly for ages 16+

Halloween Torchlight Tours 

Samlesbury Hall 

30th October 

Join your host for a 60-minute guided tour of the historic Samlesbury Hall under the cover of darkness. Discover the unique historic and haunted heritage as you hear tales of former (and possibly current!) inhabitants. Discover the strange legacy of ghosts and mysteries as the stories of the past are revealed.

Halloween party special at The Emporium

Halloween is getting a little more glamorous at The Emporium. Join a special Halloween party as you welcome Midnight Skye for a night of live music, drinks and good times. Screams! at Thornton Hall is an award-winning Halloween scare event at Thornton Hall Country Park, offering a thrilling night out packed with immersive scare mazes (including new areas for 2026), live entertainment, street food, a licensed bar and funfair attractions. Taking place on selected nights throughout October, the event features terrifying experiences such as Malkin Manor: Bloodline, Jinxed: Cirque Noir and BLACKMARKET: Killstream, delivering chilling surprises and adrenaline-fuelled scares on the Lancashire and Yorkshire border.  

Hauntings Hangings and Horrid Happenings Walking Tour 

Lancaster City centre

Step into the shadows of Lancaster's past on this evening walking tour, uncovering the spooky and sinister stories that make up the city's long dark history.  From whispered tales of witchcraft to the grim spectacle of public executions and the spirits that are said to linger still.

Your award-winning guide will lead you through Lancaster's cobbled streets and hidden corners, sharing true tales of the ghoulish, the ghastly, the gloomy, and the grim.  Perfect as the nights get darker and the shadows longer.

Beginning at the imposing John O'Gaunt Gatehouse, Lancaster Castle's main entrance, the tour winds through the city's atmospheric streets before concluding at The Borough in Dalton Square for parched peas and a chance to take refuge from the night.

Halloween Ghost Tour 

Hoghton Tower

31st October 

Ascend the long drive of reputedly the third most haunted house in Britain where we will be waiting for you. Silent torchbearers take you on the ghost tour through the darkened halls of the Tower, where you may encounter spectres from the past and you will be told about the ghostly happenings from across the centuries. Venture, if you dare, through the underground passages where footsteps from another time may echo alongside your own. Do you see the black dog who haunts the Well House? Greet Angry Peter, stare into the painting where mysterious faces may reveal themselves, before finally grasping the opportunity to reflect on what you have seen and heard.

The tour is aimed at adults and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 16. At least one member of the party should be over the age of 21.
