Cooking retreats are hosted in the beautiful farmhouse, situated in the Forest of Bowland AONB and the Yorkshire dales.
Dominique has worked professionally as a chef and primarily as a pastry chef for over 25 years. Her background in cooking has taken her to some of the best kitchens in the UK. Some of these include, the Roux brothers, Terence Conran’s flag ship restaurant, Le Pont de la Tour, The Houses of Parliament and Aiden Byrne. She has competed nationally and was part of the team to win the Grand Prix award at the Salon Culiniaire at Hotel Olympia in 2010 as well as holding the trophy for the best Eccles cake, (not bad for a southerner).
Andrew is a keen and qualified hunter and outdoorsman. He works as a gamekeeper on a local estate and provides us with a steady amount of local furred and feathered game for our menu and cookery skills classes.
The cooking days will take place in the farmhouse kitchen and the purpose built proffesional kitchen and is limited to a maximum of five people on any of the courses. Most of the courses are run as private workshops for you and your family and friends. You will chat, cook and eat your way through the day. Some of the cooking will be demonstration based, but you will have plenty of opportunity to get involved on a practical level too. Full recipes and methods will be supplied to each person.
Two night stay retreats. The main focus of the stay will be on the cooking but you can relax and enjoy some peace and quiet and the local area, so you can also choose to join an optional nature walk if you wish, or relax in your room with a fabulous view.
