Wizarding Wildlife School at Blackpool Zoo

Little witches, wizards and wildlife enthusiasts are in for a treat this half-term as the Wizarding Wildlife School returns to Blackpool Zoo.

The spellbinding Halloween adventure, which is included in the zoo entry price.  Visitors can discover the secrets of extraordinary creatures through captivating classes and enchanting encounters.

The journey begins when aspiring scholars arrive at the zoo admission desks, where they’ll collect their very own Wildlife Wizard Study log before setting off to collect Professor's Seals by completing five magical lessons.

New for 2026 is Professor Pong’s Poo School.  Pupils will see and smell lots of animal poo, with some freshly picked on the day for maximum stinkiness, to become official poo detectives with a snazzy picture frame to capture the moment.

Also, making its curriculum debut is the Academy of Aquatic Magic.  Splash and spells are the order of the day, as children explore the amazing abilities of stunning sea lions.

The Department of Creature Care class is where scholars can discover the magical connection between plants, insects and animals.  They will train as Creature Carers as they handle incredible invertebrates, meet remarkable wildlife and learn how every species plays an important role within the ecosystem.

Over in the Wildlife Discovery Laboratory young wizards will become magical detectives and get up close to mysterious bones, fascinating feathers and incredible animal skeletons as they follow clues to uncover the secrets of the animal kingdom.

Finally, the most important lesson of all comes from the Ministry of Magical Conservation, which is packed full of interesting artifacts including the largest and heaviest single seed in the plant kingdom, which looks suspiciously like a human bottom.

Students will need to complete at least three of the Magical Wildlife Classes to graduate.  Once they have three Professors’ Seals in their Wildlife Wizard Study log they need to submit their work to the Graduation Desk, where they will reach the rank of Official Wizarding Wildlife Scholar and collect their keepsake school report.

The magic doesn’t stop when the lessons end.  The Halloween adventure continues across the zoo with the Dinorion Spooky Safari, an enchanting Talking Trees Trail and whistle stop tours through on the Wildermere Express from platform Wild ½ .   Television themed skeleton displays including I’m a Skelabrity Get Me Out of Here, can also be found across the zoo.
