About Junior Archaeologists Dig Pits at Clitheroe Castle
Celebrate the Festival of Archaeology 2026 and book your young archaeologists (age 7 years +) onto one of the kid's workshops, unearth and rebuild artefacts in the dig pit activity. Each young archaeologist will receive their very own certificate to take away, too.
Dig Pits sessions will run at 10:30, 12:30 and 14:00 prompt. Sessions last around 45 minutes. Dig Pit activities are free but places are limited so booking is essential. Please book online or phone, email, or call in at the museum shop for more information.
Doors open for registration 15 minutes before session begins. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Clitheroe Castle Museum is managed by Lancashire County Council's Museum Service on behalf of Ribble Valley Borough Council.
