Heritage Open Day: County Hall, Lancashire Archives and Christ Church Chapel

Step back in time on Saturday 19th September from 10am – 4pm for an exclusive journey through the history of County Hall, Christ Church chapel and Lancashire Archives in Preston.

Places on talks and tours are limited and we encourage you to pre-book.  Alternatively, simply turn up on the day and explore at your own pace.  Meet with teams from different council services and take a trip down memory lane as we serve up some delicious Lancashire favourites in Reflections Restaurant.

Chamber Talks

Discover the fascinating story of Lancashire County Council's County Hall in this engaging talk by Josh Mynott, Chief of Staff at Lancashire County Council.

Hosted in the magnificent Council Chamber, explore the building's rich history, architectural features, and civic heritage.

Learn about some of the people whose lives and work have shaped, and been shaped by, County Hall over the decades. From major decisions affecting Lancashire to the everyday business of public service, uncover the human stories behind one of Preston's most significant landmark buildings.

Join Conservation and Collections Manager, Heather Davis, for a rare chance to step inside the extraordinary chapel designed in the spirit of 1960s modernism.   Discover its heritage, design and role within County Hall, while uncovering stories of the people who have found reflection, comfort and community within this unique civic chapel over the years.
