About Bronte Day
Join us to celebrate the fabulous novels of the Bronte sisters, and especially Charlotte Bronte's connections to the Kay-Shuttleworth's of Gawthorpe Hall. Enjoy seeing the Victorian rooms where Charlotte visited in the 1850s. Create a Victorian style silhouette picture to take home and have a go at making pot pourri with the housekeeper in the kitchen. Listen to readings from some of the classic Bronte novels and take some fun photos with the Victorian dress up.
Graham Watson author of 'The Invention of Charlotte Bronte' will also be here signing copies of his book during the afternoon. (See separate event listing if you want to book for his talk at 1pm, £8 per person).
