The Barber of Seville: New Arts - Lancaster Grand Theatre

The barber of seville - new arts

Love, disguise, deception and a very resourceful barber! Rossini’s The Barber of Seville is one of opera’s greatest comic masterpieces, bursting with sparkling melodies, larger-than-life characters and laugh-out-loud situations.

The young Count Almaviva is determined to win the heart of the beautiful Rosina, but her guardian, the miserly Dr Bartolo, has plans of his own - and intends to marry her himself. Fortunately, Figaro, Seville’s irrepressible barber, fixer and general man-about-town, is on hand to devise an increasingly outrageous series of schemes to bring the young lovers together.

New Arts brings fresh energy and theatrical flair to this much-loved opera, promising an evening of glorious music, sparkling comedy and irresistible entertainment. This performance is sung in English and accompanied by the Phoenix Ensemble.
