Tours are available on a strictly first-come-first-served basis. Visitors will be given tickets for the next available tour at the time of their arrival - no pre-booking is available for any free tour. Maximum 39 people per guided tour.
Lancaster Castle is one of the most iconic buildings in the north-west. Originally constructed in about 1093 by Roger de Poitou, it is today owned by HM The King in Right of His Duchy of Lancaster. Serving as both a court and prison, it has witnessed some of the most famous and infamous trials in English history, including those of the Lancashire Witches.
