About Three Day Weaving Course with Orange Pippin - Queen Street Mill Textile Museum, Briercliffe
Over three workshops you'll learn not only the ins and outs of how a rigid heddle loom works, but also how to set one up and bring your own designs to life!
7th October - On this first day you'll be given an introduction of how to prepare and operate a rigid heddle loom and begin to think of what you could incorporate into your scarf design. By the end of this you should have begun to wind and warp up your loom with either cotton or wool.
8th October - For the second day you'll be exploring your chosen colours, make some final decisions on your design, and then begin the weaving process.
9th October - By the end of the third day, you should have a fully woven project ready for you to take home. During this third session you will also be given advice on how to finish your piece, how to add embellishments, and how to look after and wash your new scarf / woven piece.
All materials will be provided for, but if you would like to bring along any materials in particular then please feel free to do so.
Janet from Orange Pippin will be there through the whole process to help out, offer her expert guidance and guide you on your weaving journey.
£45 per person
Please note you cannot purchase tickets for individual days - The ticket includes all three dates.
