About Songwriters in the Circle - The Continental
An unforgettable evening of stories, inspiration and live music awaits as Dave Gardner, Ken Nicol and Mark Wilkinson talk about what has inspired their songwriting and perform the songs in the intimate setting of the Boatyard.
Dave Gardner fronts The Hellfire Preachers and is a published author and his book Tales Of The Road & The Wilderness is a memoir about growing up in Preston in the 70's and 80's and then working with The Kinks, Kris Kristofferson, Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, Michael Chapman, Bert Jansch, John Rebourn, John Martyn and others.
Ken Nicol has been a member of Steeleye Span, The Albion Band, Magna Carta and Feast of Fiddles. He also formed a fruitful partnership with Ashley Hutchings, who founded Fairport Convention. Ken worked and recorded with Al Stewart as well as having a successful recording and performing career.
Mark Wilkinson is best known as the front man of Red Moon Joe. He writes and plays songs of remarkable quality and versatility rarely found in the loose category of Americana.
