Coach Parking

Lancashire offers a range of coach-friendly destinations, with convenient parking facilities available across many of the county’s towns, cities and visitor attractions. Whether planning a day trip, group tour or extended itinerary, operators can find accessible drop-off points and parking options close to key attractions, shopping areas and cultural landmarks. With its diverse mix of countryside, coastline and heritage experiences, Lancashire is well equipped to welcome group travel and coach parties throughout the year.

Please always double check these coach parking areas are still valid by contacting the relevant local councils or attractions.

Blackburn

For coach parties visiting Blackburn Market arrangements can be made to park on the Market Car Park. Contact Blackburn Market Office 01254 52911. Other drop off points & coach parking can be arranged in Blackburn town centre. Contact Blackburn Visitor Centre 01254 688040 or visit@blackburn.gov.uk for further details.

Blackpool

Blackpool provides coach parking in the following locations: Gynn Square in the north of the town, Central Car & Coach Park and Lonsdale B Parking area.

Burnley

Coach parking is available at the following attractions in Burnley; Towneley Hall, Gawthorpe Hall, Queen Street Mill Textile Museum, Rourke's Forge, Barden Mill, Foulridge Canal Cruises, Burnley Mechanics, Weavers Triangle and Burnley Town Centre

Clitheroe

A coach park is available at Clitheroe Interchange adjacent to the Platform Gallery

Cleveleys

There is a drop off point at the top of Victoria Road West in Cleveleys but no designated coach parking.

Garstang

There are set down and pick up points on Moss Lane and coach parking on Cockerham Road, off the A6

Knott End

There is a drop off point at Quaile Holme Road Car Park

Lancaster

Upper St Leonardgate coach park provides convenient access to all city centre attractions. The park is accessed via Edward Street and costs £3.50 per 24 hours.

Morecambe

Central Drive Retail Park coach parks provides excellent access to Morecambe attractions and The Promenade. Coach parking costs £3 per day. Back Brighton Terrace car park near Morecambe Town Hall costs £1 for 24 hours.

Coach parking is also available in the Heysham Village and Battery Breakwater car parks and costs £3 per 24 hours and is convenient for all attractions and hotels nearby. Leyland and South Ribble

For the town centre and South Ribble Museum (2 minute drive to Museum) park at King Street Car Park, King Street, Leyland, Lancashire PR25 2LE

Open Monday to Saturday (inclusive) 8am to 6pm excluding Bank Holidays.

Blue Bays: Free parking for one hour. No return within two hours. 
White Bays: Up to two hours - 50p. Over two to three hours - 80p. Over three to four hours - £1.50. Over four to five hours - £3.00. Seven days - £10.00. Height barriers restrict access for larger vehicles so please telephone in advance to make arrangements for coaches.

There is free coach parking available at The British Commercial Vehicle Museum (PR25 2LE).

Coach parking is also available at the following attractions - Samlesbury Hall, Huntley's Country Stores and Worden Park. Please contact these attractions in advance to book your visit.

Lytham & St Annes

Free coach parking is situated on South Promenade (FY8 1NW), located by the Beach Terrace Cafe (directly opposite Fairhaven Road).

Pendle (Nelson & Colne)

Nelson and Colne offer coach parking at their bus stations upon pre-arrangement. In Barnoldswick, coach parking is available at West Close Lorry Park and West Colne Road

Preston

*Preston Bus Station is currently unable to accept coach parking unless it is pre-booked*

Coach parking is situated at Preston Bus Station on Tithebarn Street, Preston, PR1 1YT. The recently Grade II listed building is the largest bus station in Europe with 68 departure bays and is a major transport hub for coach and bus services locally and nationally also providing 1,000 multi storey Pay and Display car parking spaces.

Facilities - Public toilets & Kiosk On Arrival Coach and bus drivers who have not reserved a departure bay prior to visiting can park at any of the following bays - 14, 29, 30, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 49, 54, 55, 72, 73 & 75, which have been set aside for use by casual coach and bus operators. On arrival, park in one of these bays and report to the Security/CCTV Control Room located opposite departure bay 31. There is a scale of fees for casual coach parking.

Preston Bus Station is currently unable to accept coach parking unless it is pre-booked.

Important Safety Message 
For their own safety, drivers and passengers must not cross the bus station aprons. Drivers and passengers must enter and leave the bus station concourse via the subways or pedestrian walkways located at north and south ends on the west side of the bus station (bays 1-4 & 38-40) and also at the south end on the east side (bay 80).

Poulton-le-Fylde

No designated parking, though parking is permitted at the Civic Centre by prior arrangement

West Lancashire

Within West Lancashire, coach parking can be found at Beacon Country Park in Up Holland, Farmer Ted's Farm Park in Ormskirk, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Martin Mere in Burscough and in National Trust's Rufford Old Hall in Rufford. Ormskirk Town Centre at the new Hattersley Centre on Burscough Road.

Whalley

There is a set down and pick up point at Whalley Bus Station
