Supervet rocks the Lowther Pavilion
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick — best known to millions as The Supervet — is swapping the operating theatre for the rock ’n’ roll stage for a very special live show.
Noel will also be announcing some very special news… what’s next from The Supervet! Music and Medicine will see Noel and his newly formed band take over The Lowther Pavilion, Lytham, on Sunday 18th October for an intimate evening of live music, remarkable stories, laughter, animals, audience questions and a few surprises along the way. The first night of a new 5 night tour around the UK. After nineteen series of The Supervet and three spoken-word tours across arenas and theatres throughout the UK, Noel is embarking on a very different adventure: fulfilling his lifelong dream of making music. And he has had some rather legendary encouragement. Queen’s Brian May and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi have both been hugely supportive in encouraging Noel to follow his musical ambitions and take the leap from surgeon to stage.
Now, Noel has assembled a band of exceptional musicians whose collective credits stretch from ELO and Take That to The Darkness, Anthrax and the Hans Zimmer Orchestra. The Noel Fitzpatrick Band have been recording their debut album at Peter Gabriel’s legendary Real World Studios and, for the first time ever, audiences at The Lowther Pavilion will hear some of those brand-new original songs performed live. They’ll sit alongside some of Noel’s favourite rock classics, with music from the likes of Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi and The Cure. But this is far more than a rock concert. Between songs, Noel will tell the extraordinary, funny, moving and sometimes eyebrow-raising stories behind his life: from growing up with big dreams, to becoming the world’s most recognised veterinary surgeons, to the animals and humans who have shaped his life and the unlikely journey that eventually led him into a recording studio with his own rock band.
Noel says: “The story of how my journey in medicine and also my journey in music all came about is alone worth coming for, since these are stories of dreaming big and making impossible things happen. These are stories for anyone who has ever had a dream and anyone who has ever suffered setbacks, which is all of us.”
Music and Medicine promises to be unlike any Noel Fitzpatrick show audiences have experienced before: part rock concert, part storytelling show and part celebration of animals, humans, dreams and the glorious unpredictability of life. Meet and Greet tickets give guests the option to spend time with Noel ahead of the show, sharing stories, taking photos and bonding with the band. At its heart, the evening has one simple ambition: to send people home feeling happier than when they arrived.
As Noel explains: “We live in difficult times and if you need cheering up in a world of mayhem, if you need a big hug, if you need to laugh and dance at the same time, if you like music and if you like animals, then this evening is for you. And if you like stories about how your heroes can become your friends and urge you to be as excited as an amazed child all over again, come and join us.”
