St Annes International Kite Festival soars back for 2027

Families across Fylde can start counting down to another spectacular weekend on the sand, as the award-winning St Annes International Kite Festival returns from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 September 2027.

The UK’s largest kite festival will once again transform our seafront, kicking off with a magical illuminated display on the Friday evening before two full days of breathtaking flying on Saturday and Sunday. World-class kite teams and talented flyers from around the globe will fill the skies above our beach with colour, while fairground rides and food and drink stalls along the promenade make it the perfect family day out.

Councillor Jayne Nixon, Lead Member for Tourism, Leisure and Culture, said: “We genuinely can’t wait for next September! The Kite Festival is a fantastic event for the town and something truly unique to our area, bringing families together and showing off St Annes to visitors from far and wide. We’re so grateful for everyone’s support, from the flyers and our partners at SmileFactor10 to the residents and businesses who give everyone such a warm welcome every year – it wouldn’t be the same without you.”

Craig Harby from SmileFactor10 added: “Every year the kite community looks forward to coming to St Annes, and 2026 was another brilliant weekend. Seeing the beach packed with families and the sky full of kites from all over the world never gets old. We’re already working with flyers and teams on what’s coming in 2027, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the sand next September.”

The festival draws thousands of visitors to St Annes every year, giving a welcome boost to local shops, cafes and businesses and showcasing everything that makes our town so special.
