Halloween is fast approaching and so is the return of pumpkin picking! Pumpkin picking is becoming more popular every year, with all shapes, colours, and sizes ready to be picked and carved. Even better, most places now provide you with the option to carve your pumpkin there, so you can leave your mess behind!
This year there’s lots of places across Lancashire offering Pumpkin picking, but booking is essential, and things are booking up quick.

Windmill Animal Farm

The famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure is back again for another year. Head to Windmill Animal Farm for a full day of Farmyard fun. With over 20,000 pumpkins at Windmill Animal Farm ready to be picked this October.
Tickets to this event are limited and each year is a sellout. Each ticket includes a full day admission to Windmill Animal Farm, all animal interactions and interactions including the Runaway Farm Train and The Hebe Jebe Show.
The famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure is where all visitors get to pick their own pumpkin from the same field they are grown in.
One pumpkin is included per ticket, but if that’s not enough you are welcome to purchase more pumpkins on the day. Wheelbarrows will be provided but don’t forget your wellies!
Pumpkin Patch, Mrs Dowson's Farm Park

Visit Mrs Dowson’s premium pumpkin patch this Halloween for a picture-perfect instagrammable adventure. Choose from 3 acres of homegrown pumpkins, including 12 rare, imported varieties. You can expect new characters, new autumn activities and much more.
The fun doesn’t have to stop at the pumpkin patch, your ticket also includes full farm admission, meaning you can go and explore some of the cute animals the farm park has to offer.
This year will see the return of Sunday Evening Pumpkin Nights at the Farm, where you can pick the pumpkins under enchanted fairy lights after enjoying a welcome drink of baileys hot chocolate from the Farm Café. (opens 12th October).

Grab a wheelbarrow and head onto the Pumpkin Patch and choose the perfect pumpkin for you from the thousands on offer. There are lots of photo opportunities around the farm for you to have with your pumpkin. Followed by a carving station where you can create your own perfect jack-o-lantern. Visitors can also enjoy animal encounters, bounce on the bouncy pillows and explore the trick or treat trail and even get to have a go on the new skating rink at the farm!
Ridgeway Farm Pumpkin Festival

The Ridgeway Farm Pumpkin Festival is back and it is said to be bigger and better than before! With 15 different varieties of home-grown pumpkins in the patch, including warty, goblin, white, blue, pink, and fireball pumpkins you will be sure to find your perfect one. They're massive this year too, offering a wide selection to choose from. Plus there are sunflowers in the patch as well.
Grab your wellies and come down to meet some of the friendly animals whilst you pick one of the amazing pumpkins. Even better, after picking your own pumpkin you can transport it (in one of the very stylish wheelbarrows) to the autumn orchard barn and where you can find animals, carving stations, decoration stations, refreshments and autumnal photo props!
Pumpkin Picking at Thornton Hall Farm

There are some creepy goings on at Thornton Hall Farm this Halloween. A spook-tacular family day out, packed with magical adventures – perfect entertainment for the whole family.
Grab your wheelbarrow and pick the perfect pumpkin in the mud free pumpkin patch. Don’t forget to capture a hauntingly perfect Halloween photograph with one of the frightful photo opportunities. Then get creative and carve up the most chilling creation in the dedicated pumpkin carving area!
As well as all the usual farm animal encounters and indoor/outdoor play. Pumpkin picking takes place on selected dates until 20th October, from 11th - 2nd November you can also book into SPOOKS! at Thornton Hall Farm which includes pumpkin picking amongst the other goulish goings on.

There’s plenty of Halloween activities taking place at Bowland Wild Boar Park this October including Pumpkin Picking and carving, fancy dress competitions, scavenger hunts, face painting and much more.
Plus guests will be able to explore the farm, feed the animals and enjoy tractor and barrell rides around the site.
