Finding the love of your life is magical, and it makes you want to make every moment perfect for them. If you have found your one true love and are ready to get down on one knee, then you need two things; the ring and the perfect place to propose.
Sometimes, the ring is the easy part. You know your partner so well that their tastes are second nature, or you may have even spoken to them about their ideal ring. That just leaves the location. You may have a special place that already means a lot to you and your loved one, so that would be a great place to start. If that’s out of the question though, you may want to consider these breathtakingly romantic locations right on our doorstep for the perfect proposal.
1. Ashton Memorial, Lancaster
One of the most beautiful viewpoints in North Lancashire, Ashton Memorial offers views across Morecambe Bay and up to the Lake District. The breath-taking Edwardian folly also provides a stunning backdrop for any photo. Not only do you have the memorial, which is one of the UK's biggest momuments to love, within the grounds of Williamson Park, but you also have 54 acres of park and woodland to enjoy, which makes for a lovely walk.
2. The Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley
If you are a lover of art, or are looking for a location that will provide stunning views, take a trip to the Singing Ringing Tree near Burnley. This unique musical sculpture overlooks Burnley from Crown Point. It is made up of pipes of galvanised steel, stacked in layers and produces a low, tuneful song. It is close to the Dunnockshaw Millennium Wood, Pennine Bridleway and more walking routes and has been the winner of awards for its architectural brilliance. It will definitely be a memorable place to propose to your loved one.
3. Morecambe Bay
If you are a sunset lover then there really is no better place to visit than Morecambe Bay. Stretching from the south west coast of Cumbria all the way to Fleetwood in Lancashire the headlands of Morecambe Bay offer some breathtaking views, making it the perfect place for your special moment.
4. Blackpool Tower
The iconic Blackpool Tower is one of Lancashire's most popular proposal spots, and we can understand why. Not only is the Blackpool Tower one of the most famous and easily recognised landmarks in the UK but it is also home to a spectacular glass viewing platform and stunning panoramic views which are perfect for proposals. Even better, the friendly team and the bespoke proposal packages make sure that you really can make every moment perfect.
5. Fairy Glen, Appley Bridge
If the outdoors is something you love, there are fewer places in Lancashire that are as beautiful as The Fairy Glen. The enchanted valley on the side of Parbold Hill provides a beautiful circular walk completed with waterfalls, but isn’t too steep, making it perfect for a stroll this time of year. The whole walk will feel magical and will provide beautiful memories of the day you got down on one knee.
6. Your favourite football ground
Do you share a passion for sport? If you and your loved ones have spent many Saturdays at the match, then maybe that would be the perfect spot to propose. Lancashire has a number of fantastic football teams all with stadiums that will provide the perfect backdrop to the most important question of your loved one’s life. Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn, Burnley, Morecambe; they all have stadiums that will already have many amazing memories for you both. Book a private tour or do it at upcoming football match.
There are so many beautiful places around Lancashire, all offering the perfect backdrop to your proposal. What’s more, once you get home after the big event you can make a start on the planning with the Say I Do in Lancashire Guide.
