It's a silly summer of family fun at Showtown!

Looking for a school holiday adventure for all the family that’s anything but ordinary?

Blackpool's award-winning museum of fun and entertainment is bursting with big top laughter and seaside surprises all through July and August as a brand-new cast of Silly Summer stars take over Showtown.

Billy Bracewell, Dorothy Dupoint, Circus Simon and Ringmaster Edward are all waiting to welcome everyone to enjoy their ridiculous antics and laugh-out-loud fun this Summer with loads of interactive experiences, pop-up surprises and hands-on activities every day throughout the school holidays.

Get crafty and bring all the gang to Showtown for hilarious guided tours, daft dance sessions, colourful creative sessions, crazy circus skills workshops and bags of memorable moments, all packed with giggles galore for visitors of all ages.

Plus, get creative every Wednesday with FREE Silly Summer Crafts sessions which will offer a fun-packed, themed activity each week, all inspired by Showtown’s worlds of magic, seaside, circus, shows, illuminations and dance. Silly Summer Crafts will run every Wednesday throughout July and August from 11.30am to 2.30pm and are included with museum admission.

Wednesday 22 July – Magic: Create your own Silly Sock Puppet, inspired by the world of magic and puppetry.

Wednesday 29 July – Seaside: Make colourful Silly Summer Signs celebrating Blackpool's famous seaside.

Wednesday 5 August – Illuminations: Craft your own Silly Sword and light up your imagination.

Wednesday 12 August – Shows: Design a pair of dazzling Silly Sunglasses fit for the spotlight.

Wednesday 19 August – Circus: Get creative making your own Silly Mask worthy of the big top.

Wednesday 26 August – Dance: Build your own Groovy Guitar and get ready to make some noise.

Ready to meet the Silly Summer stars?

Billy Bracewell is a delightfully daft Wakes Week holidaymaker with a passion for all things silly, who will be bringing his Silly Billy Tours. Join him on a wonderfully wacky tour through Showtown's entertainment history, where unexpected detours, puppet mayhem and plenty of belly laughs are all part of the adventure.

Dorothy Dupoint from the famous Dupoint Academy of Fine Dance believes everyone can dance, especially the wonderfully silly kind. Learn the cheeky Charleston, swirl colourful ribbons and discover that having fun is far more important than getting the steps right in Daft Dance.

Step into the spotlight with Circus Simon, who's determined to become the biggest star under the big top. Try your hand at plate balancing, scarf juggling, tightrope walking and clown dress-up as you become part of the spectacularly silly Cirque Du Silly.

With a twinkle in his eye and a talent for plate spinning as Ringmaster Edward is ready to amaze. Join Edward to master circus skills, tackle fun challenges and experience the magic of the circus in a show-stopping interactive adventure.

The Silly Summer themed craft sessions will run on Wednesday 22nd & Wednesday 29th July and Wednesday 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th August from 11.30am to 2.30pm at Showtown, Bank Hey Street, Blackpool, FY1 4TQ.

FREE with a Showtown ticket. Suitable for ages 4 to 12 years and all big kids too!

Showtown admission prices are £8.32 for adults and £3.75 for children until Tuesday 1st September 2026 with family tickets available. Children under 3 are FREE.
