Enjoy pirates and proms at Astley Park's open-air summer events
Open-air theatre and live music can be found in the beautiful surroundings of Astley Hall’s Walled Garden this summer, as two much-loved annual performances return to Chorley.
There’ll be something for all ages, from action-packed pirate adventures to an uplifting evening proms concert featuring opera and rousing classics.
Quantum Theatre return on Friday 28 August with a lively new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure, ‘Treasure Island’. This family-friendly performance follows young Jim Hawkins as he is drawn into a daring search for buried treasure, complete with pirate ships and the unforgettable Long John Silver.
Outreach Opera’s ever-popular ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert is also back at the Walled Garden on Saturday 5 September, promising a memorable evening of music in partnership with the Bolton Hoover Band. Audiences can look forward to a varied lineup spanning opera, West End favourites and British anthems.

For both performances visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or picnic chairs and dress for the weather. Picnics are welcome, with refreshments and snacks also available to purchase on site.
