A Taste of Leyland food festival set to serve up a full-flavoured day out

The popular annual food festival 'A Taste of Leyland' promises a day of fantastic global flavours, live entertainment and family fun when it returns to Hough Lane on Saturday 19 September 2026.

From 11am to 5pm, the event organised by South Ribble Borough Council will bring together more than 40 traders offering hot food, drinks, sweet treats, produce and more.

Visitors can explore a wide-ranging line-up of street food, local produce, baked treats and refreshments, with flavours from around the world including Punjabi, Japanese, Turkish, Balkan and Chinese and Afro-Caribbean cuisine alongside barbecue favourites, fish and chips and Yorkshire pudding wraps.

Drinks and treats will include coffee, cocktails, ice cream, crepes, cakes, cookies, and confectionery. Shoppers will also be able to browse local gin, dairy produce, honey, sauces, seasonings, crafts and gifts.

The day will be accompanied by a great line-up of live music acts and walkabout entertainment The Comedy Waiters, as well as children’s rides, face painting and a bubble artist.

Councillor Matthew Farnworth, South Ribble Borough Council Cabinet Member for Parks, Events and Culture, said: “I am proud that the Council is once again putting on A Taste of Leyland, a fantastic celebration of food and drink in our community.

"It brings people together to enjoy great flavours, support independent businesses and spend a lively day in the heart of the town."

A road closure on Hough Lane from the roundabout at Churchill way to the mini roundabout at School Lane will be in place from 6am to 7pm on the day of the event. Suitable diversions will be in place.

Just a short distance from Hough Lane on King Street, attendees can discover Leyland Market, open until 4.30pm on the day of the event, and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum whose 'Petals and Pistons' floral event runs from 17 to 20 September, tickets available now.
