About Cyanotype Workshop - Lancaster Grand Theatre
Discover the magic of cyanotype printing in this full-day hands-on workshopwhere you’ll create your own stunning blue and white prints inspired by nature. This historic photographic process uses sunlight and natural materials to produce beautiful, unique artworks.
During the session, artist Angela Macmillian will teach you how to coat paper, arrange objects to create striking compositions, and develop your prints using just sunlight and water. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to explore a new creative technique, this relaxed and enjoyable workshop will give you the skills to continue experimenting at home. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring leaves, flowers, lace, or other textured objects to personalise your prints. Wear old clothes, as the process can get a little messy! Please bring a packed lunch for our break.
Nature is an endless source of inspiration to Inverness-based artist Angela Macmillan. From intricate ferns and carpets of fallen blossom leaves to fluffy bog cotton and delicate cow parsley flowers, beauty is all around. She has always felt most at home in nature—whether in the woods or by the sea—and this is reflected in her artwork.
Angela’s work is available in FOLD, our Craft & Design Store.
