The Riverside

Whitworth is a beautiful linear village nestling within the foothills of the Pennines, at the southerly end of Rossendale Valley, 3 miles north of Rochdale and only 30 minutes from Manchester. Surrounded on both sides by the rugged and natural landscape, The Riverside is a fantastic building replacing the old wooden civic hall, which was destroyed by fire in 2003.

This £1.3million facility has everything you need to make your celebration special. The mayoral chamber will accommodate up to 95 guests for a civil ceremony, and the main hall encompassing a full stage will seat up to 200 for a dinner and 250 guests for an evening function.

Within it a full sound and lighting system will ensure that any specific needs can be catered for. There is also a festival lounge, which holds up to 50 guests, in a more relaxed setting. The Broadley Room, a bride’s retreat will ensure that there is somewhere to freshen up, to take a break and offer a little sanctuary during your day.

The beautiful gardens nearby will offer the perfect setting for your memorable photos both romantic and large group shots. For those more intimate photos there is a beautiful floral arbour perfect for those shots.

The Riverside understand how important this day is to you and to make it very special they offer a wedding package (based on 50 guests), co-ordinated to your colour scheme and designed specifically to your requirements. Throughout the day the manager will be on hand to ensure your day runs smoothly.

You will find that The Riverside can cater to suit all tastes and budgets and have a well stocked cellar. The bar and wine prices are extremely reasonable ensuring your guests enjoy themselves too.

The aim is to make your day really special whether it’s a small intimate ceremony or a more grand celebration. Everything has been put in place to ensure your celebration runs smoothly.

Please feel free to contact The Riverside to arrange a look around the superb facility and to discuss your unique requirements.

A warm welcome awaits you.
