Summer Diesel Gala at East Lancashire Railway

The East Lancashire Railway is delighted to announce that Class 37, 37716 will make its ELR debut courtesy of Swietelsky Rail (Grindley HNRC).

The visit of this ‘heavyweight’ Class 37 is the final visiting locomotive announcement for the ELR Summer Diesel Gala, and joins guests, Class 26 (D5310), Class 31, 31108 and Class 50, 50008 ‘Thunderer’ courtesy of Llangollen Diesel Group, A1A Locomotives Ltd and Hanson & Hall Ltd respectively.

Gleaming diesel locomotives, gorgeous sun-drenched days (hopefully) and soothing summer evenings.  It’s the East Lancashire Railway’s Summer Diesel Gala.  See and ride behind your favourite engines from the ELR home fleet, with an intensive all diesel timetable for three whole days.  This is one of the most popular annual enthusiast events of the year, so don’t miss out.
