Day One
Lunch - Solo Restaurant, Aughton, Lancashire
After a great career delivering impeccable food across many UK restaurants, Sōlō has allowed acclaimed chef Tim Allen to realise his dream. Following accolades in all the major guides, being featured in the Top 50 Gastropubs and the Top 100 Restaurants, TV appearances, successful reviews and great newspaper and magazine coverage for other ventures, Tim Allen was a well-known name when he stepped into his very own restaurant. His first truly solo venture in the village of Aughton in West Lancashire, has resulted in Sōlō being born.
With 40 covers inside and a further 40 on the terrace, this informal modern British restaurant reflects Allen's classical training and international influences. Sō-lō is perfectly positioned amidst some of the finest food producing land in the country, ensuring Tim always has availability to the freshest and finest seasonal foods. Due to close relationships with farmers and other outstanding artisan food producers, locally and across the UK, he can guarantee that every menu features a wealth of the most exceptional ingredients.
Afternoon - Cedar Farm
Cedar Farm is a unique and exciting creative community hub. It is now home to 33 independent businesses, all housed in repurposed and lovingly designed old farm buildings. The site started as a large pig farm and has been gradually converted into a treasure trove of studios, shops, food outlets and spaces to attend courses and workshops.
Evening - Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, Aughton, Lancashire
Gaining a Third Michelin Star in February 2025, Mark Birchall's Moor Hall, is a must visit for many looking for luxury dining. This breathtaking restaurant is set within five acres of gardens, with views to the south over a beautiful lake. The kitchen gardens deliver authentic, home-grown ingredients for Mark's mouthwatering meals, which are inspired by the exceptional surroundings of the restaurant. Under Mark's patronage, Moor Hall is now an award-winning restaurant with luxury rooms, holding three Michelin stars, five AA Rosettes and was recently awards Number 2 UK Restaurant at the National Restaurant Awards, and given a World-Class status in the 2022 Good Food Guide.
The restaurant itself offers 40 covers with the largest table available currently set up for six guests. The restaurant also offers a private dining experience in a cosy dining room, complete with roaring fire for between 10 and 14 guests.
Stay overnight: Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms
Moor Hall has 14 bedrooms available for guests, five within the restaurant building, two within the gate house and a further seven in the grounds thanks to recent luxury garden room additions. The garden rooms are inspired by nature, standalone luxury pods which offer living, bedroom and bathroom facilities with private terraces. Two of the Garden Rooms offer hot tubs within the terraces.
Day Two
Daytime – Hoghton Tower, Hoghton, Lancashire
Set in magnificent grounds, situated 650ft above sea level and approached by a steep, straight 0.75 mile long drive is Hoghton Tower, a 16th-Century Elizabethan fortified manor-house. The ancestral home of the de Hoghton family, Hoghton Tower has been a part of Lancashire’s landscape since 1565.
Join a guided tour of the panelled state rooms to hear about the history of the house, the family and the distinguished guests who have enjoyed the Tower over the centuries. Stroll through the beautiful walled gardens and take in the views.
Finish with afternoon in the tearoom where you can find a traditional afternoon tea made up of homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, alongside finger sandwiches and freshly brewed tea or coffee. For that extra treat enjoy a glass of prosecco too.
Evening - Northcote Restaurant, Langho, Lancashire
Another of Lancashire's fabulous Michelin Starred restaurants, Northcote delivers outstanding food under the watchful eye of Chef Patron-Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen.
Expect a warm, true northern welcome to a food-lovers’ paradise when you step foot in this charming country house. Sophisticated surroundings and garden views connect dishes to the landscapes they originate from, with an exciting wine list to complement the creations. Experience fine dining with real northern hospitality.
The exclusive chefs table experience will really hit the spot. This inspirational dining experience offers you the chance to witness all the action in the Northcote Kitchen right from your seat. You will have the chance to ask questions and enjoy a bespoke menu for between 10 and 14 people.
Northcote also offer a cookery school experience during the day. With only glass sliding doors separating you from the Michelin Star Kitchen, Head Tutor Ben Hinchliffe will guide you through your chosen experience. Bespoke packages available for groups of 8.

Day Four
Lunch - The White Swan at Fence
Whilst you may simply pop in for some drinks after a country walk, you do not want to miss the fine food this Michelin starred restaurant has to offer. With no standard menus in sight, the daily changing menu details a selection of finely crafted dishes from locally sourced produce.
The traditional pub décor boasts a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and serves a great selection of Timothy Taylor cask ales. Head Chef Tom Parker was trained at Michelin-starred Northcote, just 10 miles down the road and brings with him a passion for good British food, only cooking with the finest seasonal ingredients available on a daily basis from local suppliers.
The restaurant has 40 covers with the largest table set up for six diners.
