Edge Collection is West Yorkshire based artist Harry Grundy's first solo show. Bringing together nine works of sculpture, photography and drawing, Edge Collection explores the brutal and complex human relationship with this phenomenal world. Bookcases sucked through wormholes, drawings made with coal and a self portrait the height of a single pixel, are amongst this initial survey of Grundy's multidisciplinary practice.
This exhibition is an attempt to initiate a rigorous response (stacking, aligning, unfolding, measuring) to an impossibly unwieldy universe. It is anchored conceptually to Gallery 1 of The Whitaker museum and the hills beyond its walls, and would not make sense anywhere else.
