The weekend is here again and we have lots of exciting events happening across Lancashire, from music festivals to art exhibitions there’s something for everybody to enjoy.

Highest Point Festival

Highest Point Festival returns to Williamson Park in Lancaster this week with an array of acts scheduled to perform including Clean Bandit, Kaiser Chiefs and Richard Ashcroft.

The Big Family Day Out will also be retuning to the festival this Sunday, a day full of fun and laughter for the whole family to take in the various sights and sounds of Highest Point where you can expect the original music storytellers and creators of multi-sensory play, the Hartbeeps and the Magical Story Jars.

Lost In Music

Get ready to recreate the Magical 70’s and embark on a musical journey straight to the heart of Disco! Relive some of the greatest songs of all time from artists such as Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge and more!

This show features a sensational live band, incredibly talented cast and stunning vocals which are sure to have you dancing in the aisle! It’s the feel-good show of the year!

Painting Padiham

The brilliant and popular Painting Padiham event returns this Saturday where artists will be able to compete for cash prizes by creating an original piece of art depicting Padiham and its people.

This exciting event is open to both professional and amateur artists, using any style or media (except photography.)

Visitors to the event will be able to follow a trail to see artists at work and enjoy seeing original art created before their eyes.

You can even pop into Gawthorpe Hall (for free!)  and have a go at making your own collage picture of Gawthorpe and even hop on the free Vintage Bus for a ride into Padiham town centre to explore what’s happening there.

 Professor Jigget in the park

Head to the beautiful Whitaker Park this Saturday and join the Professor for stories of myth and folklore and find out how to identify the fabulous trees.

The walk is around 45-60 minutes and at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em

Willow Basket Workshop with Pip Cottage at Holden Clough

Julie from Pip Cottage will be running a workshop at the lovely Holden Clough Nurseries to teach everyone how to weave a round Willow hanging basket.

Mountain Biking weekends at Dale House

Dale House Barn has teamed up with the fabulous Liz Peacock, of MTB trail skills, to offer women’s MTB weekends in the Forest of Bowland, using the trails in Gisburn Forest and the natural terrain of the Yorkshire Dales.

Head to Heskin Hall for a great fun event, bring your dogs and enjoy a good laugh whilst helping with socialisation. Classes are £1 with profits going to St Catherine’s Hospice.
