The Spinning Block Hotel at Holmes Mill in the pretty Lancashire market town of Clitheroe is now fully open for business.

Converted from a former weaving shed, this striking old Victorian mill has been reinvented as a chic boutique hotel where many of the original features have been preserved to create a unique town centre venue with easy access to the glorious countryside of the Ribble Valley.

The opening of the final phase of the hotel marks the renaissance of a landmark building in the town – lovingly restored to honour Lancashire’s rich industrial heritage. The new rooms on the upper floors include two stunning suites and a spectacular top floor penthouse apartment.

This stunning conversion of the oldest building at the Holmes Mill development now offers 38 individually designed and decorated bedrooms in the centre of Clitheroe at the heart of the Ribble Valley.

The Spinning Block accommodation now comprises:

• 32 Classic Doubles
• 2 Family rooms
• 1 superior Room
• 2 Suites
• 1 Penthouse

The entire hotel – including all rooms and the new penthouse and suites will be available for exclusive use weddings on Sundays and selected weekdays during 2019.

Inside the imposing stone exterior, the original fabric of the mill has been preserved wherever possible and the juxtaposition of slick modern design with sections of exposed original stonework conspire to create a very modish urban chic ambiance.

Fabrics, décor and signature finishing touches and flourishes have all been provided courtesy of the interiors team at the Emporium.

The ground floor is home to the opulent Bistro, Bar and Grill – a stunning space where guests can mingle with locals over cocktails, fine wines and beers brewed next door at the Bowland Brewery.

In the dining room, the accent is on simple bistro cooking that showcases the best local meat and freshly landed fish our chefs can find. With an extensive à la carte menu and daily table d’hote options, there are dishes to suit all tastes and appetites. Vegetarian options are also available.

Now open seven days a week, the bistro serves breakfast and dinner Monday – Thursday and breakfast, lunch and dinner Friday – Sunday.

The wider Holmes Mill development features the Bowland Brewery and the award-winning Bowland Beer Hall – a very English take on the traditional German Bier Haus – where real ale and craft beer enthusiasts will find at least 24 outstanding cask ales and artisan beers on offer. Right next door is the Bowland Food Hall, a showcase for the best local meat, fish, fresh veg and cheese from local producers.

Holmes Mill General Manager Maurice Camm said: “We’re delighted to have the hotel firing on all cylinders in time for a busy summer. We’ve already seen an acceleration in the bookings as the accommodation now includes larger and more luxurious rooms.

“We’re looking forward to hosting more wedding parties over the summer months and welcoming many more visitors to take advantage of some of our tempting introductory incentives to stay with us and explore Clitheroe and the gorgeous countryside of the Ribble Valley.”

Earlybirds can take advantage of our Summer midweek 60/60 offer: that’s a classic double room in the hotel for £60, when you spend at least £60 in the Bistro. Valid May – September, Monday – Thursday.
