Young Tutick Tour of the Mill

Join a shorter family friendly tour of Queen Street Mill. Dress up and get ready for your first day working at the mill on our new tour for families and children between the ages of 4 and 12.

Booking required via website link.

A 'Yutick' is old Lancashire slang for a Beamer – a job that required nimble hands and a good eye for detail, perfect for children to start their first jobs in the mill. Dress up and get hands on as one of our knowledgeable staff guides you around the mill. Children will be encouraged to help the guide with demonstrations and tasks for various jobs and roles in the day-to-day working of a late 1800s steam powered mill. At the end, they will be awarded their very certificate and days' wage'.

So book now and don't miss out on your chance to learn more about Lancashire's textile industry with this hands-on experience!

There is a limit to two adults/guardians per booking, with a total maximum of 12 children per tour. Under 4yr olds are free and do not need to be booked on. Once you have paid for this tour you do not need to pay for additional entry fees to the museum.

Queen Street Mill is part of Lancashire County Museum Service and Lancashire County Council's Cultural Services.
